ACTIVITIES

things to do onsite

Fishing on site

The smallest of our three lakes is our match lake which is stocked with smaller carp, roach, perch and tench. This makes it ideal for the pleasure angler or the beginner. Anglers must supply their own equipment.

Fishing on our two main lakes is not permitted.

goat yoga

Coming soon summer 2024!

Goat yoga. An hours lesson of yoga by our qualified yoga instructor on our idyllic farm. The only difference is, you'll be taking the class in our new goat enclosure with our kid goats! You'll be able to interact with these adorable little babies as they run and jump around you. At the end of the class you'll be able to have cuddles and take those all important selfies!

You don't have to be staying with us to book goat yoga, Classes will take place on Saturday mornings throughout summer.

Things to do nearby

We've put together just a few of our favourite nearby attractions. We're always happy to advise on the best places, restaurants, pubs and walks in the area.

The Gardens of Easton lodge
Mountfitchet castle & norman village

We are a short drive away from the National Trusts Hatfield forest. Great Notley country park and Freeport shopping village in Braintree. Plenty of country pubs and delightful cafes. Don't forget to bring your walking boots as there are plenty of footpaths surrounding us. And the nearest train station is a 10 minute drive away so London and Cambridge are within easy reach. Just ask if you need any recommendations.

Just 10 minutes drive. The Gardens of Easton Lodge is an idyllic (Historic England, Grade II) listed haven which has been partially restored to its former glory by a team of dedicated volunteers and the owners of Warwick House. These historic gardens date back over 400 years. Please check their website for more details and opening times.

Hatfield forest, National Trust

Just 15 minutes drive. Mountfitchet Castle is a unique open-air museum experience where the visitor can travel back in time over 900 years and witness life in a medieval motte and bailey castle. Explore the Castle and roam through the Norman village hidden behind the castle walls, wander in and out of the many houses and view the scenes, smell the log fires burning and feel the ambience of a bygone lifestyle. Meet and hand feed the tame fallow deer and other rescued animals that roam freely on the 10 acre site. Visit the only medieval castle and normal village reconstructed on its original site to exist in the world!
